Room 210 Homework
Oral Reading Fluency Homework:
In this folder, you will find ALL oral reading fluency
stories for the entire YEAR... Please keep this folder in a safe
place & do not let your child skipahead to future
stories.
In the newsletter each week, it
will tell what story we will be on. It will always be our main reading story for
the week.
Directions:
Have your child read it at least 3 times during the week.
(More would be great!)
Set a 1 minute timer the 1st time they read it (note
the number of words they read).
Test them again on Thursday, the last time that they read it. Record
how many words they read in one minute on the “WPM” (words per minute)
line, on the homework check sheet & initial on the line.
The goal is for your child’s fluency to get better, meaning they
should be able to read more words per minute (fewer errors) by the end of the
week.
Happy
Reading!
